How to handle failure

Hey guys, I know its been a while..am so sorry, preparing for my first semester exams, please wish me well.

Yeah!!!!!….Today is my birthday. Like am doing the shaku shaku dance right now. It’s been God all the way.

I decided to take a little time out to discuss this important topic with you guys…

How often do you fail, have you been able to handle failure or you just can’t take it anymore?

Everyone else has failed at some point in their life. You make a mistake, have setbacks or you simply fail. It’s no fun. But one thing is certain failure cannot be avoided unless you ain’t living at all. God never promised a life free of pain, struggles and hardship.

He did promise to give you strength to get through it.

You must have experienced failure in your academics, marriage, relationship, career or business, you must have given up or maybe wondering what to do, worry no more because I’ve got good news for you, failure can be handled and these are some effective ways to do so;

1. Understanding that failure is a necessity:

Failure is a necessary stage in life, it grooms you for the success and greatness in future. Most of the famous people we know did fail at some point, what we see and talk about is their success and not the struggle.

J.k Rowling said – “I had failed on an epic scale. A short lived marriage had imploded. I was jobless. I was the biggest failure I knew. Some failure in life is inevitable. It is impossible to live without failing at something unless; you live so cautiously that you might as well not have lived at all. In which case you fail by default”.

This is coming from a renowned British novelist and screenwriter, who wrote the Harry Potter fantasy series.

Failure is a norm, in fact without failure there won’t be success, so you fail to succeed, there are no regrets in life, only lessons. So relax you are not the first to fail and you won’t be the last.

‘A smooth sea never made a skillful sailor’

This has been my slogan for years, because I have also had my own share of failure and I will tell my story someday.

‘Every trial is a messenger sent to deliver a hidden gift to you’

2.Consistency and persistence:

In as much as you have experienced failure, know that you are not a failure yourself; it’s just a process, so don’t stop trying. Be consistent and persistent.

Consistence and persistence means to be reliable, steadfast and continuous. Don’t stop doing what you have to do, keep working, keep striving and most of all carry out your activities diligently.

The reason you fail most times is to learn from what you’ve done and then make a second attempt. The more you do what you do, you learn better ways to handle them and your effectiveness increases. What you consistently and persistently do, you soon will do perfectly.

Steve Harvey said –

” Everybody has a moment when they turn back, when you say to yourself, this is too much. I had it on several occasions.

I sat down and started crying, but a voice said, ‘if you keep going, I’m going to take you places you’ve never been ‘,it was like God said don’t quit you’re almost there “.

His first debut into the industry as a comedian earned him as low as $50 a week. He was homeless and flat out broke that he lived in his car for 3 years.

Proudly he is globally reckoned as an all round media personality and an internationally famous comedian with an estimated worth of $100 million.

Failure cannot cope with persistence Consistence separates winners from wannabes. Diligence makes the difference between all-time greats and one hit wonders.

For the race is not for the Swift or the strong but for the one that endures to the end.

3. Do what you love:

Most times we fail because we are not doing what we love, what we have passion for. We do what seems right for other people, we do things to please our parents, friends and sometimes our enemies, because some people go into a certain profession to spite their enemies. Do not join the multitude, do your own stuff.

People fail in academics sometimes because they are not studying what they love, what they know and what they are free with.

Beauty begins the moment you decide to be yourself

Do not copy people trust your own vibes.

Adesua Etomi an Award winning Nollywood actress, who is known for her outstanding roles in the movies; knocking on heaven’s door, the wedding party, couple of days, falling, to mention but a few….got admission to study medicine in London, but she switched to theatre arts; because of her love and passion for it and she came out as one of the best graduating student.

That is what passion does.

4. Be wild and free:

Do not be constrained by timidity, do not be inhibited by anything, situations and people, do what you have to do.

People fail most times because they do the same thing in the same way. Do things differently, take risks and trust your own vibes.

People who live life safe only do small things.

Your greater greatness is tied to your next risk.

Be enthusiastic about what you do and what you love doing, sometimes enthusiasm markets better than knowledge.

Sometimes; if not most times, your worst enemy is your comfort zone. You can become what you desire and nothing except yourself can stop you.

5. Protect your spirit:

Protect your spirit from negativity, limit your time with negative people. Not everyone deserves access to you.

It’s being advised most times that to overcome failure you have to let it out, tell someone about your problem, this is true but you have to mind who you discuss your problems with.

Negative people has a problem for every solution. If they no longer challenge your thoughts or provoke your creativity you may just have outgrown their company.

When planning your next move keep it to yourself. Do not allow those who know nothing about your future direct your present because they may just be leading you back to your past.

Life has taught me that you can’t control someone’s Loyalty no matter how good you are to them, it doesn’t mean they will treat you same. No matter how much they mean to you, doesn’t mean they will value you the same.

Sometimes the people you love the most, turns out to be the people you can trust the least.

Work hard in silence let success make the noise.

6. Maintain a joyful attitude:

A Merry heart doeth good like medicine, but a broken spirit dries the bone

—proverbs 17:22

A joyful and a happy attitude attracts the right people to you. Sometimes you need some people in your life to help boost your dream and plans or to help you succeed, your joyful attitude is what will attract them. Even in relationship you need the right attitude to attract the right partner.

Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing in prayer

—Romans 12:12

If you are bitter you won’t make progress. Do not dwell in past failures and mistakes. Have faith that all things work together for good. Have faith that delay is not denial.

Keep yourself excited.

7. Self love and Affirmations:

This is the last but not the least.

When you fail you loose friends, most people disassociate themselves from you, they feel you will no longer amount to anything in life, at that point what you owe yourself is love.

Love yourself, believe in yourself and remind yourself of how great you are.

By affirmation I mean reminding yourself of God’s promises for your life. Most people find it hard to overcome failure because they do not know their rights as children of God.

The devil knows the Bible and he knows the promises and plans of God for us, but he has been able to stop us from succeeding because we do not know the will and purpose of God for us. God have mercy!!!!!

There are a lot of promises of God in the Bible concerning the children of God and God is willing to perfect them, if only you know and believe.

When you think you can’t do it, God said—-

” You can do all things ” – Philippians 4:13.

When you say you can’t manage, God said—-

” I will supply all your needs ” – Philippians 4:19.

And like these ones there are other promises.

Everything will fall into place, just keep working, keep pushing and keep grinding it out, in due time.

Zenith cares😘😘😘
